Special Resolution to Approve Amended and Restated Sandhills Credit Union bylaws
During 2020, Sandhills Credit Union Board of Directors undertook the initiative to thoroughly review and revise its current bylaws. It is good governance practice to fully review bylaws at least every five years to ensure that they comply with all regulatory requirements under The Credit Union Act, 1998 (the “Act”) and the Standards of Sound Business Practice. It was also important to ensure our bylaws were clear, concise, and congruent with our growing Credit Union.
All proposed changes were guided by the Model Bylaw Framework provided to Saskatchewan Credit Unions by SaskCentral Governance & Compliance.
These proposed bylaws have been pre-approved by the Board of Directors at it August 13th, 2020 meeting as well as the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA).
The Board is recommending approval of implementing such bylaws following membership vote and confirmation at the AGM which is to be held Tuesday September 22, 2020.
A copy of the full text of amended and restated bylaws can be found here.
A high level summary of the proposed amendments to Sandhills C.U. current bylaws, including specific reference to the most notable amendments, can be found here.
Copies are also available for review at your local branch.
