Sandhills Credit Union is pleased to offer two $2500.00 Future Leader Excellence Awards, which are given annually to deserving students embarking on their post-secondary education journey.
These awards reflect our commitment to recognizing exceptional individuals who demonstrate leadership, community engagement, and academic excellence. The goal is to invest in the development of promising young adults whose future achievements will positively impact their community.
Eligibility:
Are you ready to embark on your educational journey? To qualify for the Future Leader Excellence Award, applicants must:
- Be diving into their first year of full-time undergraduate studies towards their initial post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Attend the vibrant Leader Composite School, carrying a full class load for the academic year in which the award is up for grabs.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Leadership Abilities:
- Demonstrate a capacity for leadership and the ability to motivate others.
- Provide specific examples of leadership roles held in school, community, or extracurricular activities.
Community and School Involvement:
- Demonstrate positive and verifiable service to their community and school.
- Outline high school activities, roles played, and years of participation.
- Specify involvement in community organizations, service clubs, recreational associations, or religious groups.
Academic Achievement:
- Provide academic standing details, including average percentage to date.
- Include a transcript of marks.
- Submit application or acceptance letter from a post-secondary educational institution.
Application Instructions:
Applicants are required to:
- Arrange three letters of recommendation: two from school faculty and one from a non-relative community member.
- Complete the application form.
- Submit the application, letters of recommendation, transcript of marks, and post-secondary application/acceptance to Sandhills Credit Union by May 20, 2024 at midnight.
